One, Two, Three GO!!

After nap time, we usually go hang out on our drive way, so the kids can ride bikes and play with any neighbor kids that may be out. I feel terrible, because I have told Wesley he needs to be careful and watch for cars and stay out of the road so many times, that now I think I have made him afraid of leaving our drive way! Definitely not my intention. I tell him to go ride on the side walk and he won't go because "the vehicles will run on top of 'him'". So, we are working on that one. In the meantime, his new favorite thing to do is start at the side of the drive way, and go as fast as he can up onto the grass and then make himself crash. So, we got photos of it yesterday. It is hilarious. I get a kick out of how dramatic he makes his crashes. Aubrey thinks he's insane. He does this over and over! LOL (notice the back ground, how clean the garage is? We just did that last weekend. And yes, the Oldsmobile still has Utah plates!)
I get to count him off.....1,2,3, GO! And then he is off pedaling as fast as his legs will go.
He made it up onto the bumpy grass. I wish I had sound because here is where he starts going, "Whoooaa whooooaaa, whoa, whoa" leaning from side to side as fast as he is pedaling, like he is in an earthquake or something.
Finally, very dramatically, he leans hard enough to one side that he tips over and the bike comes down on top of him. You'd think it would hurt. If it does, he doesn't care. He is having to much fun!
He was a good sport and held his position so I could get a picture of him from the front. He was thrilled that we were catching his dare devilish act on the camera. (I stuttered there for a moment and almost said film! Then I realized my camera doesn't use film!) Anyway, he is so funny! Aubrey is somewhat concerned, and somewhat confused at his definition of fun.

MEMORIES

Brady and I have been looking through all of our old pics and it has been so fun to remember some of the fun things we have done together.

Before we were engaged, Brady flew me out to California for a week. It was so fun. Here we are at an out look over the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge.

This picture is taken when Brady went on a geology field trip to the Bahamas. Look how clear and beautiful the water is. It sure beats the murky waters you find down at the Galveston beaches.

Yes, he is hot! Brady did indeed have longer hair and facial hair for a lot of our courtship. And I still married him!! J/J ha ha ha I was so madly in love with him it wouldn't have mattered if he had green hair and a fro, I still would have loved him.

He is better than he admits on the guitar. To bad I broke one of his strings trying to tune it for him one day! *sigh* I really need to get him new strings!!

Now you see where Aubrey gets her curls. Isn't he handsome?!! Nice facial hair, eh?

Look at those googly eyes I have for him!! (How do ya like those side burns?)
This picture is taken at my apartment in Provo. The summer of our courtship Brady was gone a lot for geology field trips and then to California to work. He surprised me once and showed up "home" sooner than I thought. I was so excited! I love those kind of surprises! I remember when I was pregnant with Wesley, he went to Illinois for an internship for 2 months! It felt like forever. I got a call from him one Saturday morning (a week before he was suppose to be coming home) and he told me I needed to go look out the window and that there was something waiting for me on the front lawn; an over night delivery he had been working on. And guess what? It was him!!! I burst out the front door and burst into tears (of joy of course).

Brady took me on a date to a Baseball game the week he flew me to California. It was awesome and the first major league game I had ever been to. The whole week was very memorable. We also went on a hike to the beach one day. It was so much fun. We stopped by this lake on our way to the ocean to swim, and by the time I got up the courage to actually get in, Brady and his brother and sister had already swam out to the middle and back and were ready to continue hiking. Oh, but it was fun.

And we continue to make wonderful memories together. Now we have two adorable children to share and make memories with. I am so grateful for my sweet little family! And for my sweet husband who is always so thoughtful of me.

EEEKKKK!!! SNAKE!!!!!

So, Sunday night we went over to cousin Mike and Lisa's home in Humble. We had a great time and finally around 10:00 pm we decided it was time to head home. Well, on the way out to the car, Debbie got bit by a snake!! She must have stepped on it or something and ticked it off. So, Mike caught it in a jar and we took it with us and went to the emergency room, just to be safe. It ended up being identified as a non venomous snake, but we were never told what it was. So, our best guess is that it was a Texas Night snake. Debbie got a RX for a pain killer and a note from the doc for two days off work!!! To bad they didn't give her a RX for Valium for the anxiety attacks she is still having from the whole episode.

Visit with Grandma Tingey

We took a trip down to Galveston with Grandma Tingey and met up with Aunt Becky, Aunt Christine, cousin Bill, and Cousin Mike and his wife Lisa. We had a lot of fun. Here is grandma and the aunts watching the rest of the gang play on the beach at the sea wall. The sea wall was built and the island of Galveston raised back in the early 1900's after a terrible hurricane destroyed the island. Over 6,000 people died. Winds were recorded to be at leaste 100mph, if not faster. A very devasting event. After the sea wall was complete, another hurricane hit in about 1915, and the sea wall proved itself effective. Only 6 died in the 1915 hurricane compared to the thousands in earlier 1900.
Sailor Wesley had a blast running up and down the shore line. Cousins Bill and Mike are in the background looking for burried treasure.
Aubrey doesn't really enjoy the feel of sand on her feet. She didn't enjoy the beach as much as Wesley.

Aubrey insists on doing everything herself lately. Her favorite thing to do is go up and down stairs. Here she is ascending the steep steps up from the captains quarters onto the deck of the ship. That look on her face is saying, "Dad, please don't help me. I can do it myself."

Wesley is ready to set sail on the Elissa!

This ship (background) is named Elissa. She sits in port as part of a musuem exhibit for all to see. Wesley loved this ship! We found out that Elissa sets sail once every year and is crewed by volunteers. Anybody can volunteer. But you do have to put in 64 service hours down on the docks for your fare.
All hands on deck!!!

Weeeeeee.................................................This is so fun!!!
We had a swingin' good time at the park in our neighborhood. It was a beautiful day!

This was one of our favorite butterflies. This poor guy was stuck on a wall vent! Brady saved him.

Taking a rest.

We went to the Cockrell Butterfly Musuem and had fun seeing several different types of butterflies. Grandma had one land right on her!

Pretty Lips

Grandma Tingey is here visiting for a few days. Today, we went out to pamper ourselves and have a pedicure and left the kids with their daddy. We were just finishing up at the nail salon when I realize I have a few missed calls on my cell phone from daddy. So, I called to see if everything was okay and the first thing I here is, "so how do you get lip stick cleaned up out of the carpet?" and Aubrey crying in the background. *sigh* Apparently Aubrey found grandmas make-up bag and discovered the one tube of lip stick she had and thought, "hmmm...this looks like a good color for me. Ooopppss! I got it on my hand, let me just wipe that right off here on the carpet." She also got it on one of the couch coushins and Wesleys little lounge chair. But doesn't she look sooo pretty? Great color for her; not so great for the carpet, her clothes, and the furniture.

Our Little Photographer

So, I walked into my bedroom yesterday, and there was Wesley playing with the camera. I asked him what he was doing and He said, "I'm just trying to take pictures of me with this pig". He was so determined. He would take a picture, look at it, and then say, "oh darn!" because he couldn't seem to get his whole head in.

He is getting closer!!!!! ("darn")
(this one is for you, grandad! hee hee)

And closer....(This was a "darn it mom! uhg! I can't get it to work! ohhhh uhg!!!!!!!!!)

VICTORY!!! This was the one where he said ever so happily, "Look mom! I did it!" We love this kid!!!!!! He is the best!

When Life hands you lemons, MAKE LEMONADE!!

Making Lemonade is a lot of work!!

mmmmmmmmm..........yummy!!
Three bites later she decides that eating the whole lemon really isn't so tastey after all.

Wesley sporting his daddys tennishoes. He is pointing to his flowers we planted from seeds a few weeks ago. Still no blossoms, but they are really growing. He loves to go out every morning and water the lavendar we have growing in pots and check on his "other seeds" we have growing around the tree.
I guess girls aren't the only ones who love to wear big people shoes. Here Wesley has decided to trade in daddys shoes for moms shoes. And there is Aubrey in yet another adorable dress sent from Grandma Tingey.

Aubrey has been observing Wesley a lot lately and trys to do just about everthing he does. She wants to do everything herself and gets very upset if mom and dad try to help. Her latest 'i wanna be like wes' thing is drinking down all her milk after a nice bowl of cereal. At leaste she hasn't picked up on the slurping yet.

Making Home Sweet Home

This month marks 9 months of being in our new house! I have finally finished the wall in my breakfast nook, and the one over the fire place. Slowly but surely things are coming together. I am happy with the way the decorating is unfolding. If you can't read, the words arched over our family picture say "All Because Two People Fell In Love". I ordered the word stickers through Upper Case Living. I love them!!

As you can see, we had a rough go at taking pictures of the kids on easter sunday. We didn't have much in the cooperation department. Oh Well.

The kids had fun hunting easter eggs in the house. They also had a blast at an easter egg hunt sponsored by our wards relief society. We have wayyy to much candy in our house. Next year I am putting dimes and nickles in the eggs instead of candy. Aubrey figured out real quick that there were jelly beans in the eggs. She found her first egg, cracked it open, and sat down to eat her treasure while Wesley found all the rest of the eggs. He did share with her in the end.

BOYS WILL BE BOYS!!!!!!!!

Could this girl get any cuter?? Grandma Tingey has been spoiling this girl with the cutest dresses and shoes! THANKS GRANDMA!!!

Aubrey loves shoes! But what girl doesn't? It has been a lot of fun to have a girl. She lets mommy make her hair pretty, loves to wear braclets and put make-up on. Lately she really enjoys sitting on the bathroom counter while mom gets ready. She puts make-up on herself, combs her hair and gets into all kinds of things she shouldn't.

Wesley and Aubrey enjoying their aquadoodle. It is great because it makes no mess when they decide to use the water pen to draw on the tile floor or the wall.

Nichole and Sergio came to texas for a visit in february. It was fun for Wesley and Aubrey to have some cousins around for a little while. We had a lot of fun down at Galveston. We went to Moody Gardens to the aquatic pyramid and went of the ferry. The kids loved touching the star fish.
